SCCC Friends and Family Meet. Anglesey. June 2007.
Fantastic day on Gogarth. Myself and Marion abbed into Castell Helen to do Light House arĂȘte (VS). The sun shone, the Choughs were wheeling, the climbing solid (and very reasonable at VS), the views superb. What more could you want? Marion loved every minute. You have to admire her - 57 yrs of age, 4 times grandmother, 2 new hips and still well up for the full Gogarth experience!
Back to the campsite for a BBQ, and celebratory drink or three.
Good club weekend with 63 people out.

Dave L and Dave B had a classic time on Gogarth, doing Pentathol. Still reckon the scariest bit is getting down to the route! Managed ok, despite me (Dave L) thinking I was off-route, whereas I'd actually run 2 pitches into one (bad idea), and was sure the birds on the big white ledge (only solid thing I could find) were going to attack me. In fact a guano-filled time was had by all, Dave B savouring the 3rd pitch thrutch over a bulge onto a sloping bird-poo-covered ledge ("lot of chalk here Dave...") Lovely!
As usual, too tired and late to do another route after all that, but definitely had an adventure!
