Several members of the Club enjoyed a night at Audley Climbing Wall on
Thursday 23 February. Audley includes a lead wall as well as plenty of
opportunity to top rope. Father and son due Alan and Nick kept going the
longest, whilst I ran out of steam early on due to Marion offering to
belay me in the absence of Darron. This resulted in me whizzing up and down
routes back to back, without any regard for technique or colour coding of
the grades in an attempt to get to the top. I blame it on the children as
a night at the wall normally involves me on belay duty whilst they climb.
Hannah celebrated her 11th birthday, climbing with her dad Brian, and
was the only person representing the Children folk this week.
It was great to have both Darren and Marc along as newcomers to the
Club and who were still going strong by the time both me and Marion decided to
call it a night and go home.
